Dr. Eric Carson was trained at Harvard University in Boston MA, with subspecialty training in sports medicine and shoulder surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in NY. Particular interest in sports injuries and cartilage research. He is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specialized in shoulder and knee sports injuries and currently serving as team physician for University of Virginia Athletics. He has served as member of AAOS Educational Council , AAOS Diversity Advisory Board and JR Gladden Society, oral examiner of ABOS. He is elected to Presidential line representative of AAOS Board of Specialties and Vice President of the JR Gladden Orthopedic Surgery Society in 2017. He is recognized in the "Guide to America's Top Orthopedists".
